Aircraft Charter Solutions PoW - Adrian Ray

Ray has learned to be a power runner with finesse, and is just entering his junior year.

AIC ’center Adrian Ray was a central part of his team’s victory over NEC this past weekend.

Ray, a power-running midfielder out of the Perry Street Prep program in Washington, DC, provided one of the great highlights of the day, thundering over a defender to score one of AIC’s four tries on the night.

The 6-0, 207 junior is a criminal justice major and one of the lesser-known players n the Yellow Jackets, but a key member of the team, said Head Coach Josh Macy.

“Adrian wins rucks, creates loads of turnovers, and gets our team moving forward,” Macy told Goff Rugby Report. “He doesn't have a big voice or a flashy hair cut, but I'm so happy I coach him.”

Macy said Ray is the heart and soul of the team’s backline, and he is all about leading by example.

“Away from game day, Adrian doesn't settle,” added Macy. “If guys are off or not working hard, he gets really frustrated - he just cares that much.  Seeing him grow as a player has been very rewarding in the past two seasons. Not only is he one of our team's best defenders, but he's quickly growing the ability to be a playmaker behind the gain line instead of just crashing through it.”

Although, he’s still pretty good at crashing through it (see the video below; if you don’t see the video, please refresh the page).

Adrian Ray is our Aircraft Charter Solutions Player of the Week.
