ACRA is down to four teams after Saturday's quarterfinals in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Vassar rolled over Colby 53-5 paced bu six tries from Emily Howell. The forwards did well to create space for the backs and the backs exploited that.

"I think we just wanted to keep building our communication," said Vivica Sheppard. "We have so many young people and we're all just getting to ... love each other and know each other so I think we're just really able to see how much we have each other's back, which is really nice."

Coast Guard advanced behind a massive day from hooker Daleny Moyer and with scrumhalf Julianna Curtis moving the attack and center Morgan Lusk busting the line. After a tight 5-5 first half between Coast Guard and Colorado School of Mines, a half in which Coast Guard got two yellow cards, the game opened up somewhat.

Coast Guard ran in three tries and looked in control at 20-5. But Mines found another gear and with some good playmaking from flyhalf Marissa Shigio and some impressive attacking runs from Marion Hohn, they inched closer. Shigio's kick ahead for Hohn, who nabbed the kick and beat several defenders, was something to see, and made it 20-19. But Shigio's conversion was the last play of the game and Coast Guard held on.

Fairfield started very well against Vermont with a big run from Kate Wood setting them up for a try. But Wood would end up leaving early with an injury, and that hurt. No. 8 Katie Loverty and Clara Lemal-Brown were excellent for Vermont. Lemal-Brown, who achieved notice in high school as a star for the Atlantis program, was dangerous every time she touched the ball and she scored three tries as Vermont slowly took the lead and the quickly built on it 52-20.

Behind a brace of tries from Miranda Kenney and from Marianna Sohna, Temple outlasted Colorado Mesa 43-12.

On Sunday at Vassar's rugby facility, Vassar faces Coast Guard and Temple takes on Vermont.
