We are now very close to knowing all 15 of the teams in the DIAA playoffs. Here's what we know at present:
Harvard ran out to an early lead and weathered a Princeton comeback to win 25-21 in the first day of the Ivy League play-ins. Cornell got the scoring touch from their forwards, with lock John Schuler, prop Ethan Venosa (twice), fullback Ryo Inkyo, wing Jin Sasaki, and then lock Keith Hoge, forward Chris Groton, scrumhalf Jon Furman, and Gareth Pym all touched down in a 53-10 defeat of Brown. Do those two will face off Sunday for a place in the DIAA playoffs.
Here, then, is how the East will look:
Delaware at AIC
Harvard or Cornell at James Madison
Notre Dame College at Bowling Green
MTSU at FIU (already played, MTSU won 32-8)
In the West, Washington defeated Western Washington (details) to win the NCRC and get into the playoffs. Arkansas defeated Missouri 38-7 in the final weekend of the Heart of America, capping an undefeated run for Arkansas and the conference title.
Meanwhile, in the Pacific West, UC Davis won comfortable over Nevada-Reno, and Sacramento State defeated Chico State 25-17. That puts Davis v Sac State in Sunday's final, but both teams have made the DIAA playoffs regardless.
West Matchups:
UC Davis or Sac State at CSULB
USC at UC Davis or Sac State
Utah State at Washington
Arkansas through to quarterfinals.
