Life defeated Lindenwood in a top-10 D1A clash over the weekend, taking the Lions down 31-20 thanks in part to two tries from Shaun Matthysen.

The result moves to Life to 6-1 with their only loss being a 20-14 decision dropped to #1 Navy (who also won this weekend). For Lindenwood this is their second loss in a row after being edged 13-7 by Arkansas State last week.

Arkansas State, ranked #8 in the CRAA D1A Power Rankings and #9 by GRR defeated Lindenwood (ranked #2 by both rankings) 13-7 on a wild, windy day at Curt Huckaby Field in Jonesboro, Ark.

This was a low-scoring match and both teams defended their line through the game as it was a nailbiter with two minutes left. The urgency to halt scoring chances was high energy throughout.

Lindenwood and Mary Washington both ended up in Knoxville, Tenn. over the weekend to join the University of Tennessee in a three-game series.

While the main game was Lindenwood's A-side against UMW, there were other games, as well, giving over 120 college rugby players important game time.

Top-20 D1A teams Lindenwood and Mary Washington met at a neutral site in Knoxville Tenn. (note state abbreviation style) with the Lions coming away with a rain-soaked shutout victory.

On what was a torrentially rainy day the two sides looked to rely on their forwards to do a lot of the heavy lifting.

We at GRR pondered how to write a headline for this article.

Lindenwood University just cut 10 spots. We heard the news over the weekend and many people who heard it immediately assumed that rugby was one of those sports or assumed rugby was in danger. But rugby, for both men and women, is still going strong at Lindenwood.

Why?
