In an unexpected turn of events, the University of California, Davis soundly defeated Stanford University 46-19 this past Saturday.

Stanford, a DI Elite team, used to be a group that moved ball wide quickly to break the gain line and use the advantage to score flashy tries - but that didn't happen this time around.

Quinnipiac showed plenty of grit against the Penn State Nittany Lions, but two first-half yellow cards against the Bobcats and two tries by PSU wing Tess Feury led to a 13-5 halftime lead for the eight-time National Champions and ultimately a 35-12 victory.

A new campaign is underway to change USA Rugby's eligibility rules related to college students with military service. A few years ago USA Rugby changed the eligibility rules for players in an attempt to simplify things. The current rules say that a player has seven years beginning on the date of his or her high school graduation, to play five years of college rugby.

In a clash of two well-regarded women’s college teams in the Northeast, American International College scored with time up to defeat Army 34-31 Saturday.
AIC trailed 31-29 with no time left when they burrowed their way to the Army tryline, and No. 8 Jess Davis scored to win the gam for the Massachusetts school.
