West Coast Boys HS Invitational Slated for May

Action between San Diego Mustangs and Thunder Rugby.

Leading youth rugby clubs hailing from Southern and Northern California, as well ass Arizona, have announced the inaugural Pacific Coast Invitational.

Set against the iconic backdrop of Treasure Island in San Francisco, this premier youth rugby tournament is scheduled for May 17-18, 2024.

The tournament will feature a two-day 15s competition tailored for boys (U18 HS Club and High School teams) whose teams have demonstrated prowess throughout their regular league season. Simultaneously, a one-day girls 7s tournament will also be part of the slate.

The primary objective of the Pacific Coast Invitational is to spotlight the abundant youth rugby talent prevalent in California, Arizona, and the surrounding western region. Beyond the competition, the event aims to forge connections for young players with rugby opportunities post-high school.

In their launch statement, the tournament organizers said "our mission is to curate a high-quality youth rugby experience, expanding access to top-tier competition and creating an unforgettable atmosphere for players, clubs, and spectators alike, contributing to the growth of the game."

By bringing together the best youth rugby teams, the Pacific Coast Invitational seeks to elevate the standard of competition and celebrate the passion and dedication of these young athletes.
