Tennessee, South Carolina on to SCRC Final

USC team gets another shot at Tennessee.

Tennessee will play South Carolina at the ACRC Bowl Series after both teams won semifinals in the SCRC conference Saturday.

USC held off a determined Alabama team 34-27 i a game where the teams continued to trade tries. No. 8 Mike Mahon was outstanding on the day and shared player of the game honors with scrumhalf and goalkicker Brian Keown.

For Tennessee, things looked ominous early as Florida scored a try and a penalty to lead 10-5. But Tennessee mauled over a try to tie the game and then Dylan Craven, Josh Landon, and Jack Donlon, with Andrew Sayers adding a conversion and a penalty to win 30-13. The Tennessee maul was a hugely important platform for the Vols.

So this sets up a rematch of a clash between Tennessee and USC on October 31, which Tennessee won 17-14. The rematch will be the penultimate game at the ACRC Bowl Series at the Rugby Athletic Center in Charlotte, NC.
