RugbyTown 7s Slated for August

The Men's Collegiate All Americans won the RugbyTown 7s last year.

The Serevi Rugbyown 7s returns to Infinity Park Glendale, Colo. August 14-16.

The tournament, which has served as a high-level senior men’s 7s tournament, as well as an Armed Forces Championship, has an added component as here will be a U19 Boys competition this year.

In the Men’s Bracket, the five Armed Forces teams - Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps - will comped in Pool A, with the winner being crowned Armed Forces Champion. Then the top teams from that bracket will move on to the knockout rounds.

In Pool B, the host Glendale Raptors will join the Bermuda national team, Upright Rugby Rogues out of Canada, and the Stars Rugby Academy out of Arkansas. In Pool C, the Denver Barbarians, Atlantis, Northeast ODA, and Mexican national team compete. And in Pool D, the US Collegiate All Americans, Serevi Selects, Negro y Azul, and the Bahamas national team will compete.

The Collegiate All Americans won this tournament last year. The Serevi All-Stars reportedly will don the Serevi moniker for one last run-out, before the company moves completely to Atavus. The team will be more of a development team for young players, rather than one of veterans, as has been the case in the past.

In the U19 bracket, eight teams are expected: Utah Lions, Alberta, Upright Rugby Rogues, Atavus, Raptors Rugby, Atlantis, Rocky Mountain Rebels, and Utah Cannibals. The Cannibals are not 100% confirmed.
