It was a big game for Northern Michigan last week, and it gets even bigger this coming week.

NMU will play defending national DII champs Wisconsin-Whitewater this coming weekend, but that clash had to wait for the Mooesmen to get by rivals UW-Milwaukee this past Saturday.

That they did, winning 31-23.

Montana State exploded for 58 points to down #11 Colorado School of Mines 58-5 and lay down something of a marker.

Now 3-0 MSU will face 4-0 Western State on October 15, and that most likely will be a Rocky Mountain DII Conference decider.

After taking his provincial girls select side to Canadian provincial national championships last year, New Brunswick Girls Head Coach Troy Dixon thought maybe he could go one better.

The University of Scranton rebounded from a difficult 15-14 loss in the opening weekend of the Mid-Altantic Rugby Conference to down Millersville 33-19 Saturday.

It was a key result for a Scranton team that has some big dreams.

Iowa State was named one of FloRugby's potential breakout DI college teams, and things have been going well for the team so far.

ISU beat Iowa two weekends ago 43-0, getting four tries from center Joe Dillon, and two from scrumhalf Emmett Wagner.

On a hot fall afternoon the Citadel Bulldogs came into Cape Fear to play UNCW and came away with an impressive 45-24 victory.

UNCW flanker Tom McCrimmon started the scoring, pouncing on a loose ball for a 5-0 lead. But  Citadel's Daniel Smith took a 45-meter run after being set up by Aaron Moore. Ellison Rourke converted to put the Bulldogs up 7-5.

In the WIIL, Milwaukee and Stout will have a big clash to see who is still up for a playoff spot.

It's still very, very early days in the Tri-State, but King's Point has started strong. RPI v Hofstra, Sacred Heart v Union, and William Paterson v Molloy are all games to watch.

USA Rugby is reportedly going to host six men's national team games, and possibly more, in 2018.

The Americas Rugby Championship is expected to be back in February, 2018, and the Eagles, the defending champions, will have three home games.

09.20.2017 - Alex Goff

USA Rugby's D1A seems to have emerged as the dominant post-season in college rugby.

We haven't heard anything specific about the Varsity Cup, but that's the problem. With perennial Varsity Cup teams seemingly getting closer to D1A, it looks as though things might drift that way even more.

09.20.2017 - Alex Goff

USA Rugby has named its squad to play for the USA Selects at the Americas Pacific Challenge.

The games will be played in Montevideo, Uruguay, the same venue for last year. The USA will play Samoa A, Uruguay A, and Canada A. Also in the competition are Argentina XV and Tonga A

Here are you latest Men's DII College Rankings.

We made some changes as we had a few mistakes last week - mostly teams in the rankings had moved out of the division. We also have some significant moves, including Appalachian State, VMI, Marquette, Principia, and Scranton.

In a meeting of two of the very top teams in the Cardinals Conference men's DII college competition, North Carolina State defeated Virginia Military Institute 34-29.

Both teams have high expectations in the league, and so it was no surprise the game was that close.

For VMI, flyhalf Thomas Mitchell was a standout, and No. 8 Cory Atkins led the forwards and scored.

09.17.2017 - GRR Staff

For its first Liberty Conference game, the Binghamton Men’s Rugby was hosting Colgate University, on a bright and sunny day ideal for rugby but with the heat as a potential factor impacting players on both sides.
