"the culmination of senior leadership, underclassmen with real rugby experience, and the maintained focus on accomplishing the goals they set for themselves was the side of the Muddogs only coaches get to experience. For that we thank all the players and parents for coming out this season and supporting youth rugby.

The Bitterroot Koa Wahines have won the girls state title for the 4th year in a row.

Head Coach Dana Cather said the team has been somewhat flat over the last couple of weeks but showed up at the right time in the final.

"They utilized their game plan and trusted the process," said Cather. "As coaches we just reminded them to believe in themselves and play their game."

Captains Dawsyn Brewer and Sierra Poulsen led well and leading players Madison Lee, Madison Hancock, Sadie Allred, and Lexy Perez were key in a decisive 30-0 shutout,

Newer players Catherine Hart, Kami Brewer, and Ellie Craig, "stepped up and played amazing and made major contributions on both offense and defense," added Cather. "This is an amazing group of talented, athletic young ladies who always work hard, listen and love to condition. We have some U14 ladies that played a major contribution in getting the girls ready for State; thank you to Kayden Allred, Hailey Lee and Kelly Hart.

Bob Hart and Boyd Kanenwisher were also on the Wahines' coaching staff and were invaluable to their success.
