Men DI College Rankings Spring 2016 #1

With 2016 now underway we have the opening Men's DI rankings of the 2016 Winter/Spring season.

In the fall, Goff Rugby Report ranked only the teams playing 15s in the fall (and one or two games didn't really count, we expected more than that), and AIC took the #1 ranking at that point. Now, with January here, teams from the Western United States join the fray, while teams in other areas continue their seasons.

We keep everyone in the mix. If they are concentrating on 7s, we try very hard to fold their fall 15s results into current information to keep the rankings current. The idea now is, if a team is playing its best players next weekend, who wins the game?

As you can imagine, with DIA, DIAA, ACRC, Varsity Cup, and independent efforts, this is an enormously difficult proposition. But, we can do it!

The ranking below is how we start 2016, and it's based on observations, results, common opponents, and a whole lot of guesswork. But the fun part is, results will win the day.
