Job #2 In Front of All Americans

Lineout training time for the All Americans.

It's almost time for Game 2 for the Men's Collegiate All Americans, and Game 2 may well be tougher than Game 1.

The All Americans rebounded from a tough start to beat Darling Downs Selects 31-17, and Wednesday's opponent (kickoff 4am ET, 1am PT) Brothers RFC at Crosby Park in Brisbane, QLD will be ready.

"We have apparently surprised the Australians by beating Downs last Saturday, so we are expecting a very physical and confrontational battle," said All Americans Head Coach Gavin Hickie.

With Brothers' home field being a narrow one, it could well turn into a tight forwards' battle. That doesn't faze the American tourists, however, as they have some players who know how to mix it up.

But Hickie told Goff Rugby Report that this will be a stern test for his players.

"Brothers RFC boasts a membership of 1,500 rugby players and are one of the top club sides in the country," he said. "They recently won the 2016 Premiership title, so the club is in buoyant mood. Allied to this, it's Ekka, a national holiday here in Queensland, so we are expecting a hostile atmosphere tonight."

But as Captain Aladdin Schirmer said previously, all that can zbe taken care of if players worry about the job in front of them.

Hickie agreed, saying the goals are fairly straightforward: "From our perspective, we want to secure possession and play at a high tempo, moving the opposition around the pitch."
