Indiana Impresses in Win Once More

The University of Indiana pulled off yet another very impressive result, beating Wheeling Jesuit 44-17 Saturday in Lockland, Ohio.

Teddy Terezis was a scoring machine for IU, logging 24 points on a try, five conversions, and three penalty goals. Terezis staked his side to a 6-0 lead with two penalties before Jake Hidalgo caught up to a grubber and touched down for the first try of the day. Terezis converted and added another penalty to make it 16-0.

Jacob Garwood scored on a quick tap on a penalty, and Terezis converted that, and while Wheeling Jesuit answered with a penalty, tries from Aaron Hancock and Nick Irvin (both converted by Terezis) put the game out of each at 37-3.

Terezis then put the whipped cream on top with a 50-meter ramble, which he also converted.

WJU kept up the pressure and scored two tries late, but really it was all Indiana. This is the latest strong result for IU, which won the Big Ten Universities Conference while going 12-0 in the fall, including wins over Davenport and Kutztown. This winter/spring, Indiana tied Furman 41-41 with a lineup heavy with younger players, and have beaten Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee State, and now Wheeling Jesuit. IU has played seven teams that were ranked at one point by Goff Rugby Report, and has beaten all seven.
