Gamebreakers This Week in D1 Men's College Rugby

Quincy Allem for West Chester.

Many many players stood up in D1-level action over the last week or so—here's a look at the best performers.

Dominic Tianga, Army

Army got a 26-7 victory over Queens and loose forward Tianga was a big part of that in a tense, physical game.

Hamish Watson, Notre Dame College

NDC is winning games in part because of unflinching defense, smart play in tight, and set piece success—they can thanks Hamish Watson at hooker for a lot of that.

Vaughn Schmitz, Navy

A huge runner and ground-gainer for Navy, Schmitz carried the rock nicely in a tense 15-3 win over St. Bonaventure.

Ethan Howard, Davenport

The player of the game for Davenport over Adrian, Howard led the team with two tries and also played hard-hitting defense.

Carson Hoeppner, Indiana

In IU's win over Illinois Hoeppner was a force at hooker. Often he is now playing No. 8 for Indiana and he's been excellent there, also.

Lucas Ring, Michigan State

The MSU flyhalf was defensively strong and ran the attack nicely in a close win over Ohio State.

Orion Walker, BYU

The Cougars loose forward has been working enormously hard around the field and delivered several hard-hitting tackles in a well-taken win over Utah State.

Kaspar Pitbaldo, Brown

A big physical runner at flanker Pitbaldo was part of a big forward effort to beat Iona on a wet day.

JD Farrell, Marian

A lineout target, a strong defense, and a player who gets go-forward, Farrell has been massive for Marian as they advance to the Big Rivers semifinals.

Dag Dawouna, Sam Houston State

The SHSU wing scored a try and played really good defense as Sam Houston State defeated UT San Antonio in the Lonestar Conference.

Tom Bohman, U. Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish prop scored and was a hard-carrying runner in a key win over Bowling Green.

Gage Curry and Holden Hahn, Kentucky

These two young loose forwards made good decisions and got the job done in an impressive win over Georgia.

Quincy Allem, West Chester

Allem scored a try and was a constant presence in a 12-10 win over St. Joseph's.

Mike Drummond, Binghamton

The Binghamton scrumhalf ran the attack smartly in a shutout win over Colgate.

Eamon Coffey, Boston College

The BC No. 8 scored two tries in a win over Yale and then followed that up with a Man-of-the-Match performance in a victory over UConn.

Hugo Triqueiro, Western Michigan

In a huge win for the Broncos over Cincinnati the WMU flyhalf scores 18 points on six out of seven conversions and two penalty goals.

Cael Kuhn, Kansas

The player of the game against Missouri, Kuhn suffered a dislocated thumb in the middle of the game, got it popped back into place, and returned to finish a monstrous defensive effort for the Jayhawks.
