Fall Men DI College Rankings Week 1

Army is a tenuous #1. Cordell Hoffer photo.

Below is the first week of Goff Rugby Report's Fall DI rankings.

In these rankings, we include only teams with significant 15s activity through the fall. So no Cal, no BYU or Life, no Arkansas State or St. Mary's or any teams from California, Washington, Arizona, or Oregon.

Now we realize that some of the excluded programs - Life and Arkansas State, for example - play a couple of 15s games this fall, but it's not enough to just keep them in the rankings. So we will recalibrate these rankings come the New Year.

As for the current Fall rankings, there's so much to prove that no team is safe anywhere. Army sits at #1 but it's a tenuous position for the Black Knights. And the same goes for the rest of the teams listed. Perhaps the teams to note are Notre Dame College, which has moved up to DI from DII, and Boston College, which won big over Dartmouth. There are many teams waiting for a chance to enter the rankings, which we will likely expand to a Top 50 in the next week or so.
