Boise State pulled off a bit of a surprise result in the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference, beating Oregon 53-28.

Led by a superb defensive effort from No. 8 Joe Green, Boise State put in one of its more complete efforts.

BSU started six freshmen and three sophomores.

"We're young and always looking for signs of progress," said Boise State Head Coach Matt Genetti. "We've been working on embracing our principles of attack and defense and the match vs. Oregon was a massive step in the right direction."
