ACRC 7s Kicks Part of Elite College 7s Events

World-class sevens rugby returns to the Virginia Beach Sportsplex April 29-May 1 with the 2016 URugby Sevens Virginia Beachfeaturing the American Collegiate Rugby Championship Sevens (ACRC7s).

The annual #ACRC7s event features top collegiate rugby teams from around the country competing in Olympic, sevens-style rugby—the fast-paced, high scoring version of the game that will be played at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

See current and future stars as the nation’s best young rugby players come to Virginia Beach. Last year’s ACRC 7s included the legendary Kutztown University RFC, two time-national sevens runner up with players representing 13 states and four nations; 2014 ACRC7s champion American International College; perennial powerhouses Notre Dame College, the University of Cincinnati, St. Joe’s, St. Bonaventure and Stony Brook, among many others; and local Tidewater favorites Hampton Heat Elite.

Register now for the ACRC7s in Virginia Beach

Expect an equally strong line-up of men’s collegiate teams at the 2016 tournament. Already committed for 2016 are Drexel, St. Joe’s, Heat Elite and Delaware. Check the URugby website for updates.

Matches will be held Friday night under the lights, all day Saturday into Saturday night, with finals to be held on Sunday. The Virginia Beach Sportsplex will be electric with teams, fans, families, local rugby clubs and volunteers.

Located a 15-minute drive from the ocean, the Virginia Beach Sportsplex is designed for major sporting events. The Sportsplex is a three-level facility with lights, modern locker rooms, luxury boxes, concessions, a souvenir shop and state-of-the-art turf field.

The event, matches and participating teams will be heavily promoted with live updates on social media, the URugby website and other major sports media. All the action will be lived-streamed worldwide by Next Level Rugby.
