This past fall season was one for Albany’s men rugby team to forget. It was clear after week three that this was not the Danes’ season - a conclusion brought on for a couple of reasons; surging talent among other teams in the ECRC, and roster depth. Obviously there is a huge talent dropoff between Albany and teams like AIC and BC, and no one would expect the Danes to pull out victories in those contests. However, against teams like Northeastern, who have also had a dropoff in the past few years, Albany still struggled. This past year Albany lost to NU 53-7, which unfortunately was one of their closer matches. Depth has also been an issue for Albany.

Just down I-90 UMass us able to get 60 players to practice, but Albany struggled to field a full roster every week. The Danes just need to find players.

With some strong DII teams coming on, such as Vermont, Albany has some work to to stay competitive.
